Job Description
NATIONAL PUMP COMPANY IS GROWING AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR TIER I APPLICATION ENGINEERS TO JOIN OUR TEAM. OUR APPLICATIONS ENGINEER WILL FACILITATE TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR PUMP APPLICATIONS, PREPARING QUOTATIONS AND TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS AND REVIEW OF SPECIFICATIONS. THIS ROLE IS INTEGRAL TO THE OVERALL OPERATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION AND IS THE FIRST POINT OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT WHILE SUPPORTING THE SALES AND PROFIT OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPANY.
THIS IS A FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITY, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. HOURS BETWEEN 7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
PRIMARY DUTIES FOR APPLICATION ENGINEER:
- Provide guidance, training and technical solutions via phone, email and in-person;
- Prepare, review and validate quotes to meet customer specification requirements;
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICATION ENGINEER:
- Bachelor Degree in related field; or 2+ years of comparable work experience.
- Understand and apply all aspects of proper engineering applications.
- Advanced computer skills (typing, word processing, data entry).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem analysis and problem-solving.
- Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in deadline driven environment.
- Mechanical aptitude is required.
- Preferred knowledge of vertical pumps/components.
APPLICATION ENGINEER TIERS:
- Tier I: This role will primarily support customer service with technical inquiries. 0-2 years experience required.
- Tier II: This role will review and proof Tier 1 technical quotations; responsible for technical bid specification documents. 3-7 years experience. Provides training to Tier I engineers and customer service as required. Municipal and Agricultural subject matter expert, intermediate to API.
- Tier III: Subject matter expert of all pump applications and industries supported. 10 or more years of experience. Travel may be required to support sales and troubleshooting. Review all quotations exceeding dollar threshold as determined by management for accuracy.
SALARY RANGE WILL DEPEND ON TIER.
