IT SPECIALIST (CYBER SECURITY) – MID-LEVEL

The NRO Cadre is collecting resumes for consideration against a current opportunity for amid level IT Specialist (GG13) with an emphasis in Cyber Security to help us conquer challenges such as:
This position is located within the Audits Division in the Office of Inspector General (OIG) The incumbent will provide technical support for IT, financial, and performance audits in accordance with Government Auditing Standards, evaluation, as well as providing subject matter expertise in coordination with other OIG Divisions as needed. This position requires working level IT knowledge with Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) cybersecurity policies and standards and industry best practices in order to perform system security analysis.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
Experience with developing and maintaining cyber defense for an organization mission, objectives, and management practices to recognize probable areas of interaction and overlap between proposed applications and existing systems.
Understanding of cybersecurity networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies, security management principles and practices.
Applies technical knowledge to determine opportunities for new and improved cyber defense projects and adopting innovative methods and approaches to generate solutions to technical software problems.
Provides technical advice, guidance and recommendations to management and other technical specialists or cyber defense process solutions
Creates detailed project plans to include work breakdown structures, schedules, project cost estimates, monitoring activities, evaluating and recommendations.
Ability to design, develop, install and manage software systems that meet current and future security requirements and apply and extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture to manage assigned projects.
Full Performance (GG-13)
2021 Salary range for Washington DC Area: GG-13 $103,690 – $134,798
Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform and is typically in or directly related to the duties of the position as described above. Experience must be reflected in your resume.
These positions are a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1601.

TRIAL PERIOD
All new DCIPS employees will be required to serve a 2-year trial period.
