  • Responsibilities

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     The System Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and operation of the server/Desktop infrastructure. This position serves as medium-level technical expert on computer systems and all associated issues.

    • Responsible for receiving and responding to all Help Desk calls and emails acting as first line of contact for NationsHearing employees seeking computer assistance.
    • Support and coordinate with software development department and business departments, including supporting the network administrators to ensure network availability.
    • Monitoring and track help desk requests communicate the status of problem resolution with the users.
    • Participate in monitoring and maintenance of system key process improvements.
    • Manage user, computer accounts and the Active Directory objects.
    • Maintain and manage proper IT documentations
    • Maintain and manage computer, peripherals and presentation equipment
    • Provide Desktop support for network, applications, workstations, terminals, printers and peripherals.
    • Support and coordinate with software development department and business departments, including supporting the network administrators to ensure network availability.
    • Must maintain a good working relationship with management, IT personnel, as well as end users.
    • Work with other supporting team in the planning of server infrastructure strategy and continuous improvement plans.
    • Work with security, disaster recovery, and other vendors providing required services to the server infrastructure.
    • Work with the IT Application Development group and, when necessary, end users to stay abreast of changes within the production processing environment and to assist in the resolution of production processing problems.
    • Communicate with coworkers, management, staff, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
    • Maintain inventories of all computer related equipment.
    • Act, dress, and behave in a professional manner to reflect a positive image of the company.

    ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE:

    • Participate in monitoring and maintenance of system key process improvements.
    • Manage user, computer accounts and the Active Directory objects.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network hardware and software problems.
    • Assist in the development of a comprehensive training plan for help desk procedures; assist in training personnel providing backup coverage.
    • Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations affecting Company.
    • Responsible for participating in quality assurance, compliance and in-service and continuing education activities as requested by Company.
    • Responsible for performing other duties and responsibilities as required
    • Implements new server-based hardware and software components as required.
    • Upgrades server-based hardware and software components as required.
    • Deployment of all patches to desktops and servers.
    • Responsible for participating in quality assurance, compliance and in-service and continuing education activities as requested by Company.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • A minimum 3 years of experience in the IT field.
    • A minimum 2 years Microsoft Windows System Administration/technical support
    • Knowledge in Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP
    • Specific knowledge in Microsoft Office Products and client applications
    • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience
    • Strong understanding and commitment to the IT organization's goals and objectives
    • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to present ideas in professional and user-friendly language
    • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Able to lift and transport moderately heavy objects/equipment, such as computers and peripheralsAdditional Notes
