    WHAT WE NEED: As a Communications Specialist, you will play a key role by helping to develop and manage internal communications strategies and programs to engage and connect employees to our mission, business, and culture. You will work in a cross-functional capacity with various departments playing a critical role in creating communications by developing compelling and creative content for our internal communication channels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for communicating and help to engage and inspire our team of over 500 employees across six locations. This position will report directly to the Communications Director and be based in Plantation, FL.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support content strategy and editorial creation for company-wide and targeted communications to ensure consistency and cohesive messages
    • Create content – writing and editing – for topics including policy, culture, initiatives, and other areas of strategic importance as directed by the Communications Director
    • Promote employee engagement and culture with strong communication components that are inspiring, engaging, and effective
    • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and align with external communication messages
    • Handles day-to-day content publishing for employee communication intranet
    • Demonstrate strong research skills to develop internal articles, blogs, scripts, speeches, and more
    • Review, edit, and offer recommendations on content produced by other team members or freelancers
    • Write and produce internal company news for electronic distribution
    • Partner with in-house subject matter experts to execute and ensure all communications are produced accurately and align with brand strategy
    • Undertake other ad-hoc related responsibilities, as required
    • Qualifications and Education Requirements:
    • 5+ years of Communications experience
    • Previous Corporate Communications, Journalism, Marketing Communications or Public Relations is strongly favored
    • Experience developing communication plans and content to support business objectives
    • Experience leveraging both digital and traditional internal channels to create communications that drive awareness and engagement
    • The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • Must have excellent customer service skills, including a team-oriented approach to the management of customers' needs
    • Must have the ability to use good business judgment in making decisions
    • Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Preferred Skills:
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, voice, flow, and storytelling
    • Must possess exceptional proofreading and copy-editing skills
    • Must be able to consistently meet deadlines and work in a cross-functional capacity
    • Must have high standards for excellence and quality

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    This position requires thinking outside the box and a strong understanding and enthusiasm for how content is consumed. A positive, can-do attitude is paramount, and the ability to take direction and interact productively during brainstorming sessions is expected. This position may require other duties not mentioned above. Individuals may be responsible for other administrative tasks or be required to assist with other roles/departments as needed.
