Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center located in the Polaris/ Lewis Center Area is currently seeking enthusiastic PM Cook to join our Culinary team in our newly renovated kitchen. The Line Cooks are responsible for executing Food & Beverage plan/food for the day according to par sheets or instructions as well as cooking products assigned to his/her station.

New hires in this position will receive $250 sign on bonus:

Applicant must not have been employed by CHM previously in the past 12 months or worked at a Columbus Hospitality Management property through a temp agency or related program in the past 12 months.

$125 paid after 30 days of successful employment.

$125 paid after 90 days of successful employment.

All bonuses contingent upon perfect attendance and adherence to company policy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follows culinary plan for the day and cook’s food per recipes.

Long hours sometimes required.

Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.

Physical Requirements: These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Medium work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and /or 80 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Ability to stand for long hours at a time.

Required Skills and Experience:

Communication Skills

Ability to work well in a team

Culinary and Knife skills highly preferred

High School Diploma.

2 year experience in an upscale a la carte or banquet kitchen

Culinary school preferred
