THE NATIONWIDE HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER located in Lewis Center, Ohio is searching for a BARTENDER to join our team! The bartender prepares and serves drinks to clients in a bar setting: mixes new drinks based on customer orders, maintains liquor stock and bar supplies, assembles and serves food items, rings up sales on point of sale system and ensures customers meet the age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.

This position will average between $15 - $25 HOURLY. Part time associates will have dining and travel discounts, special offers from our business partners, option to enroll in 401k, and discount programs for selected cell phone providers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Takes beverage and food orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
• Serves food and beverage orders to customers
• Mixing ingredients to prepare drinks
• Pouring beer and wine to customers
• Slice or pit fruit for garnishing drinks
• Collecting payment and operating point of sale system
• Balance cash receipts
• Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
• Assembling and serving food to all customers that meets product and HACCP standards
• Able to keep work stations clean during the work shift
• Stock all items that are on the menus daily, observer items for spec freshness and quality standard
• Clean glasses, utensils and bar equipment
• Is Responsible for Cleanup and tear down of all food items
• Wipes the bar down after each shift
• Relates any shortages on food to the Chef and the Bartender
• Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Position requires lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Position requires standing for entire shift

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Previous POS usage is preferred
• High school diploma
• Prior experience working in upscale bar
• Superior Customer Service
• Knowledge of alcohol drinks mixing recipes and terminology
• Marketing and Sales skills
• Mathematics skills
• Proficient Organizational skills
• Proficient Communication skills
