    NATIONWIDE HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER  is currently seeking AN EVENT COORDINATOR to join our team!

    The EVENT COORDINATOR is responsible for assisting with general administrative and day-of operations for both social and corporate planning teams, with a heavy focus on weddings. This role helps to maintain our reputation for a memorable client experience by assisting the management of event production from concept through completion alongside of the designated lead planner or food/beverage manager.

    Tucked in a 15-acre park-like setting just North of Columbus, Ohio, our property offers a complete collection of services and amenities for an all-inclusive experience. Our hotel has 193 stylishly appointed guest rooms and suites delight leisure travelers, while our 45,000 square feet of customizable meeting spaces are sophisticated yet comfortable and offer state-of-the-art technology to create a dynamic setting for meetings and special events.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Event Coordinator is responsible for assisting with general administrative operations for the planning team on an as needed basis.
    • Fantastic customer service ethic, always embracing the Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center mission statement with high emphasis on exceeding Clients’ expectations and always providing authentic hospitality to each and every Guest.
    • Ensures the accurate and timely flow of information, superior levels of performance and dependable and friendly service to external and internal clients.
    • Provide administrative support to the events department. Responsible for faxing, mailing, filing, copying, creating, and updating client or event information in Delphi.fdc and guest files.
    • Generate proposals, contracts, and floor plan diagrams for event Directors and Managers who will make final edits and send to clients.
    • Ability to multi-task given duties from multiple events simultaneously and at different planning stages.
    • On event days, coordinator will help oversee client experiences, manage on-site preparations, production and possibly event breakdown, and ensures consistent, high-level service throughout all phases.
    • Is responsible for participating in the weekly strategy meeting as instructed, along with the other members of the Planning Department.
    • Is actively engaged in the daily operations of the property and shows willingness to help in other areas if needed.
    • Average 35 – 40 hours per week; weekly schedule based on business volume.
    • Assist with special projects and other duties, as needed/assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related discipline is preferred.
    • One to two years of work experience in catering/event planning is preferred.
    • Ability to work later afternoon/evenings when needed and majority of weekends. Schedule will vary week to week depending on events taking place.
