    Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center is looking for a Human Resource Manager to provide strategic planning, creative solutions, and viable deliverables. Recognizing Columbus Hospitality’s complete commitment to culture, a primary focus of the Human Resource Manager is to be the culture advocate, acting as the heart and soul of our property, in addition to providing support and encouragement to all our associates. They will manage all human resource programs such as associate recruitment and retention, compensation, policies, procedures and training for all associates, and ensure company policy compliance.

    Essential Functions:

    Provide direction related to employment trends and how best to maintain a highly skilled workforce

    Be a strategic Leader that translates business strategies into HR priorities. Align the HR Department, and its organization, competencies, strategies, and practices with the business strategy for the property

    Ensure that the property adheres to applicable labor and employment laws

    Manage drug free workplace program and drug free safety program

    Assists corporate office in managing unemployment and worker’s compensation claims

    Recommends changes in procedure and policy as it relates to compliance and other HR related areas

    Complete administrative tasks such as: benefits administration, newsletter preparation, salary administration, policy interpretation, report preparation, etc.

    Supervise performance issues, disciplinary actions and terminations

    Advocate for both the company and the people who work in the company

    Develop proactive strategy for sustaining associate engagement. Be involved in defining and developing and organizational culture that enables the organization to succeed in its service to guests, both external and internal

    Develop and maintain associate (exempt and nonexempt) retention and recognition programs

    Be an associate advocate, and positively impact associate recruitment and retention

    Provide orientation for new associates and create professional development opportunities for associates ready for career advancement.

    Actively promote available training for property team members. Promote and maintain Educational Assistance and Scholarship Programs.

    Maintain communication boards throughout property

    Lead the recruiting and hiring of all new associates

    Be proactive in all areas of Human Resource management

    Perform an annual competitive wage and benefit analysis

    Serve as member of Executive Committee

    Participates in property MOD program.

    Physical Requirements:

    These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position.

    Position requires walking from building to building on property

    As an MOD, heavy workloads requiring the ability exert up to 100 pounds of force and the ability to regularly lift 55 lbs.

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    Two or four-year degree in human resources management

    Two years’ experience in senior level human resources management position.

    Bi-lingual preferred.

    Travel

    Local and regional travel is required resulting in overnight trips. This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ohio Driver’s license. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver’s license upon being hired.
