    Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center, located on the North side of Columbus in Lewis Center Ohio, is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor with the ability to possibly work up to 2 days Night Audit shifts (11pm-7am) each week. The Operations Supervisor oversees the operations of the transportation department, housekeeping department and Front Desk at specific defined times.

    Essential Functions:

    Directs operations of the housekeeping department (e.g. assigning daily tasks and rooms, scheduling of associates, inspecting rooms).

    Supervises over current housekeeping, laundry and public space staff to ensure that all guests needs (internal and external) and quality assurance standards are met.

    Performs some lead functions at the front desk at times of need to include but not limited to: stand-alone shifts, checking all paperwork from the previous day to make sure all items posted correctly, cover scheduled breaks for all front desk personnel for any particular shift and perform any front desk projects as assigned by Rooms Leadership team.

    Provides support and presence to other front desk associates when the Director of Operations or Operations Managers are absent.

    Balances and audits for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, and telephone revenue; Assists in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.

    Balance and audits for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashier’s reports and guest and house accounts.

    Completes and transmits daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents. Prepares customer tracking report, market segmentation report, food and beverage revenue report and other auditing reports necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses.

    Communicates with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information.

    Accurately and efficiently checks in and out guests using a computer system, input rooming lists and transportation requests. Efficiently and effectively maintain the Front Desk Outlook mail box and respond accordingly. Assist guests as requested, handle cash, answer telephones and make reservations; sell rooms, sell the hotel and send correspondence to guests.

    Assists in producing weekly schedule in any assigned areas that accommodates all guest needs.

    Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

    Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the departments’ goals and objectives.

    Responds to emergencies including after hour’s situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns.

    Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.

    Supervises department personnel including hiring/termination recommendations, planning / coordinating activities, training, advising, consulting, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that the department functions in a safe and efficient manner.

    Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.

    Physical Requirements:

    Position may require lifting lift up to 50 lbs. (supplies, furniture, etc.) occasionally

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    Previous 1-2 years’ experience at a full service hotel or conference center preferred, including Night Audit experience

    Cost control; effective listening interpersonal aptitude; guiding others; leadership; managing staff/performance; planning; problem solving; supervision.

    Required to perform math; read information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.

    Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies; safety practices; safe shuttle driving practices as it pertains to DOT regulations.

    Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using vehicle.

    Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances.

    Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.

    Provide leadership and direction; mechanical aptitude; meeting schedules/deadlines; organizing; taking initiative.

    Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units
