JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Delta Utilities is seeking a Line Locator to locate and mark underground gas distribution system for contractors and others doing excavation work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum experience required of the position
Level I: Preferred minimum 1 year of line locator experience in any utility
Level II: Preferred 3-5 years of line locator experience in any utility
Level III: Preferred over 5 years of line locator experience in any utility
Able to read and interpret distribution system maps, drawings, detail books and valve books.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and contractors.
Troubleshoots hard to locate underground gas structures
Reviews and analyzes ticket volume and ticket work types for the day for local area
Assist in gas damage investigations

Physical Requirements
Able to meet all the physical demands of the job bending, walking, climbing on all types of ground and in all weather conditions.
Able to demonstrate, by test, and advanced knowledge of present job responsibilities as determined by the company at the end of 90 days.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Able to maintain high standards in the quality of locating work.
Able to work a reasonable amount of overtime and be called out for work assignments after hours.
Able to communicate orally and in writing in a clear manner
Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Able to bend, stoop, squat and/or kneel for filing and must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must respond to emergency call-out for storm restorations and line locating emergencies
