JOIN OUR TEAM Navigate Affordable Housing Partners is now accepting applications for an Intern- Community Development Analyst Navigate Affordable Housing Partners (Navigate) is a major player in the affordable housing industry with offices in Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia and Connecticut. This position is based in Birmingham, AL. The ideal person will possess a strong interest in community revitalization and affordable and workforce housing in diverse communities. Major Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Provide analytical and technical support to senior management team in the planning of new business and community development activities. - Assist with project and program specific data collection and analysis (workforce housing, educational achievement, etc.) and provide reports - Assist staff with developing project specific metrics to assess Navigate's return on investment - Represent Navigate at assigned community meetings and events and regularly communicate with stakeholders - Ability to effectively manage and complete assignments independently and as a team member; think and problem solve creatively and independently. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include but are not limited to: - Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment; - Must have excellent computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs; - Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written presentations and documents; - Possess an understanding of community development and a commitment to working with diverse, low and moderate income people and communities; - Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines; - Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights; - Good time and project management skills with a defined interest in community development, planning, public administration. Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience Graduate degree in progress and excellent academic record (e.g. MPA, MBA, MSW, PhD, etc.) in a related discipline such as Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture, etc. Previous internship or related experience is a plus with excellent computer skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs or any equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
