    INTECON, LLC is seeking an experienced Technician, Engineering IV to provide senior-level support for the planning, installation, testing, and modernization of U.S. Navy Submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems. This position provides expert-level hands-on technical execution under NSWCPD Code 24, serving as a critical interface between engineering teams and field implementation.

    Roles and Responsibilities :

    The roles shall include:

    • Lead or support installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of submarine HM&E systems during shipboard availabilities, alterations, and overhauls.
    • Perform advanced technical evaluations and inspections of equipment conditions to identify system degradation or deviation from technical specifications.
    • Assist in estimating, planning, and coordinating shipboard engineering tasks, including labor, material requirements, and execution schedules.
    • Participate in and support alterations and upgrades onboard submarines at Navy shipyards including Norfolk, Puget Sound, Portsmouth, and Pearl Harbor.
    • Document installation outcomes, provide system validation input, and support closeout reporting to ensure compliance with contract deliverables and technical specifications.
    • Work directly with NSWCPD engineering and logistics personnel to execute field activities with minimal oversight.
    • Maintain shipboard safety, security, and operational discipline in accordance with Navy protocols and classified handling requirements.

    Qualifications :

    Education :

    Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering.

    Experience :

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting U.S. Navy Submarine systems and equipment, including direct involvement with system installations, ship alterations, overhauls, repairs, and testing.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage or execute shipboard system integration tasks independently and accurately.
    • Experience in estimating workloads, creating test procedures, and providing input into POA&Ms and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for engineering activities.
    • Familiarity with NAVSEA installation standards, alteration documentation, and configuration control practices.

    Preferred Certifications and Training :

    • NAVSEA Ship Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Training
    • SUBSAFE Program Familiarization (preferred)
    • OSHA 10/30 Maritime Safety Certification

    Proficiency in:

    • Technical drawing interpretation and system schematics
    • Use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shipboard test gear
    • Microsoft Excel and Word for status reporting and data entry
    • Familiarity with NSWCPD alteration records, DFS, LARs, and CASREP processes

    Security Clearance :

    Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
