    Job Description

    Our IT (Information Technology) Internship provides valuable, hands-on experience to aspiring professionals looking to pursue a career focusing on information systems, technology and other computer related careers. Our Intern will work to assist with day-to-day projects and organizational aspects of NNM’s technology department. This person will collaborate with the IT department to gain practical skills and contribute to the overall functionality of NNM’s technological capabilities.

    SCHEDULE: We are looking for candidates who are available to start in February working a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week. Some of this work may be conducted remotely, a minimum of 4 hours on-site at the School each week will be required. Some of the on-site time may be during evening hours. 

    This is a paid internship, paying $15 per hour; we may be able to provide college credit if the internship meets the needs of the candidate's program. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop skills to perform network tests and participate in documentation updates 

    • Learn how to design and refine content maps for documents and website data

    • Practice and perform audio/visual technician duties as needed

    • Develop skills to participate in responses to help desk troubleshooting tickets

    • Gain hands on experience programming database systems and big data queries

    • Learn how to deploy workstation images and backup data

    • Contribute to electronic asset record keeping 

    • Assist with implementation of asset management tracking systems throughout various departments

    • Inventory and organize processes relating to audio visual equipment

    • Assist with inventory of computer equipment including:

      • Barcode assets, log serial numbers, software version, update status, user profiles

      • Note ports, drive capacities and physical condition

    • Organization of other technology related materials and processes across departments

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school graduate or GED completion; some college level coursework preferred
    • 1+ year of work related experience in an IT field or related school coursework in similar field
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google applications
    • Basic knowledge and awareness of content management systems and server environments including MacOS
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience working with a team or in a customer service role
    • Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency, and developing skills to support a diverse student and staff population
