    Job Description

    ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT ADVOCATING FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, AND INTERESTED IN TEACHING OTHERS TO DO THE SAME?

    Our new Parent Ambassador Program will provide training and engagement opportunities to parents of children ages birth to five across the State of Nebraska to help them use their voice. 

    HAVE YOU BUILT PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL, STATE, AND/OR FEDERAL ORGANIZATIONS TO GAIN SUPPORT FOR EARLY LEARNING OR OTHER FOCUS AREAS RELEVANT TO FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN?

    This opportunity will allow you to cultivate opportunities for increased parent advocacy, work with legislators, provide testimony, participate in task forces and advisory groups, lending support to help parents find their voice.

    PARENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM MANAGER

     At the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative, we are enthusiastic about championing early education and school readiness.  This new position will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Parent Ambassador Program to include recruitment and training of parents and supporting them to achieve their advocacy goals. 

    In this role, the Parent Ambassador Program Manager will

    Coordinate leadership team meetings.

    Develop and implement training and bi-annual parent retreats.

    Conduct annual recruitment and selection of parents. 

    Accompany parents to meetings and other legislative activities to provide support. 

    Oversee budget and manage related grant reporting.

    IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF PARENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM MANAGER 

    will have knowledge of legislative process, experience in advocating for social, economic and diversity initiatives and resources, excellent interpersonal and communications abilities, detail orientation and organizational skills.  

    A bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years work experience in community development, early childhood policy, advocacy, or government affairs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States is required.
