    We’re opening Ned’s Club Washington DC in Summer 2024, and the Membership Director is crucial to ensuring our success in this exciting new market.

    Created in 2017 by Soho House Founder Nick Jones, The Ned originated in the former Midland Bank headquarters in London, designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924. The space includes private members’ club Ned’s Club and a private events floor, alongside ten restaurants and 250 bedrooms which are available to the public.

    The Ned and Ned’s Club expanded in 2022 to include The Ned NoMad in New York and The Ned Doha. Each property is slightly different depending on its location, but the ethos of The Ned remains the same; to create a space for like-minded professionals to meet, work and have a good time.

    In late summer 2024, Ned’s Club Washington DC is set to open its first standalone club, exclusive to members. Whether members are a leader in their field, a budding entrepreneur, or simply someone who enjoys the finer things in life, Ned’s Club offers a welcoming and sophisticated environment for members to thrive and connect with likeminded individuals.     What’s the role? Membership Director at Ned’s Club Washington DC. Where will you be working? Membership is the essence of Ned’s Club. We have a team of professionals working to ensure that our member experience excels, whether that’s on our rooftop restaurant, our bars, or anywhere in the building where our members need us. Where’s the office? The club is a private place to eat, drink, meet, and relax and will be a celebration of Washington DC and the city’s culture. We’re set over the top floors of an art deco building situated within President’s Park. The club will have a rooftop terrace with views overlooking the White House and Washington Monument, plus a restaurant, bar, library and sitting room.

    We’re five days a week in the office, as we’re relationship-focused and it’s just not the same on a screen, and this role will require flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.

    Reporting to our General Manager: • You’ll explore all avenues and opportunities to maximize the number of new member applications to Ned’s Club • An integral part of the role is targeted outreach; building relationships and developing partnerships with relevant networks and companies in and around Washington DC to generate membership applications

    ROLE PROFILE • You’ll be responsible for identifying sources of high quality potential new members or groups, and engaging them to want to join Ned’s Club • Member feedback is hugely valuable and you’ll be responsible for using this information to address shortfalls in product or service standards with the appropriate people • Your analytical skills will be crucial for updating all stakeholders regularly on membership sales and preparing management reports for ownership • As we’re all about relationships, you’ll provide highly personalised levels of service and attention for prospective members, and assist them with navigating through the membership application journey • If you have the perfect new member, you’ll fast track their application where possible • You’ll be a figurehead for Ned’s Club Washington DC, and you’ll represent us at relevant events across the city that potential members and prospective applicants will attend • To keep our member pipeline strong, you’ll manage the outreach incentive programmes that support and reward acquisition • Leading your team, you’ll drive performance with clear targets and expectations, holding everyone accountable for achieving membership key performance indicators • You’ll host events and manage pop-up activations aimed at attracting prospective members, both at Ned’s Club Washington DC and elsewhere • We will need to build a strong membership committee, and you’ll continually review and seek high performing committee members to ensure that intake goals are met • You’ll plan and chair our regular committee meetings What would we like you to bring to Ned’s Club? • An exceptional leader of people, always getting the highest level of performance from your team • Well-connected across a range of corporate and social communities and networks, being on top of all current lifestyle trends • Like everyone at Ned’s Club, you should be outgoing, energetic, fun-loving, and sociable – it’s part of who we are • Highly adaptable and able to change direction quickly, if required
