    Software Specialist NedGraphics - New York, NY $47,000 - $51,000 a year SOFTWARE SPECIALIST The Software Specialist will use problem-solving, critical-thinking, presentation and people skills to ensure proper software training/teaching so that end user (client/customer) can accomplish business successfully. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving client/customer help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostics and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the Software Specialist give hands-on help at the desktop level. The Software Specialist will actively promote a fast paced, energetic environment that delivers a consistent brand experience for customers and employees. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: COMMON CORE ROLE: * Install proprietary software following design or installation specifications * Set up equipment for client presentations, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems and appropriate software * Confer with clients/customers and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support * Confer with peers, clients and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications * Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train clients in the proper use of software * Prepare evaluations of software and recommend improvement or upgrades * Answer client/customer inquiries regarding software operation to resolve problems * Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems * Field incoming help requests from clients/customers via both telephone and work orders in a courteous manner * Document all pertinent client/customer identification information including name, department, contact information and nature of problem or issue * Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting * Identify and learn appropriate software used and supported by NedGraphics * Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including software installation / upgrades, troubleshooting, and configuring systems and applications * Perform post-resolution follow-up to help requests and deliver brand service * Demonstrate NedGraphics Applications to prospective and current clients in accordance of NedGraphics and the clients needs * Train/teach NedGraphics Applications which achieves the expectations of both NedGraphics and the client * Complete projects that will help promote Nedgraphics Applications, Sales and Maintenance * Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position * Be accountable and take ownership of accuracy and timelines for given projects * Prioritize, promote and support the goals and values of NedGraphics management * Additional duties and responsibilities can and will be assigned by direct manager as business need arises MAC SPECIALIST-SPECIFIC CORE ROLE: * Ability to work with all recommended and supported Mac platforms and operating systems, including virtual environments * Ability to set up and configure recommended MAC virtual environments, preferences and allocations, and peripherals, specifically pertaining to NedGraphics Software Applications and use * Test and troubleshoot current and new MAC configurations and make recommendations for workflow and updates * Ability to teach/train peers and users on Mac attributes and software specifications/uses * Alert and communicate to management any MAC specific updates and information (HW/OS releases, new software, new drivers, new versions, etc) * Maintain and update MAC documentation for install, recommendations, and guidelines REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Works closely with NedGraphics software support and sales teams. Acts as a representative to customers and prospective clients. Reports directly to Software Support Manager.
