    About the VP of Finance position

    Neighborhood Goods is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial VP of Finance to lead the management and oversight of FP&A, the roadmap for strategic growth, and aid with future financings. As VP of Finance you will report to the VP of Operations and the CEO, adopting an integral role in the Neighborhood Goods leadership team.

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being a strong financial operator, strategic thinker, cross-functional collaborator, and excellent communicator as well as the ability to establish structure and process. You will help drive Neighborhood Goods' long-term strategies and translate them into actionable, measurable goals. Ideally, you will have relevant experience leading finance for a growing company and building innovative revenue models.

    The successful candidate will join a fast-growing startup environment that is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

    VP of Finance responsibilities include:

    • Manage and grow the Finance team, beginning with 2 direct reports
    • Own financial modeling and planning for a company pioneering a diverse and sophisticated network of revenue streams from a variety of different channels
    • Partner with departments using financial analysis to optimize ongoing processes and evaluate the viability of strategic initiatives
    • Establish financial reporting processes and best practices including monthly reporting packages, KPI reporting and investor financial updates
    • Deliver the relevant financial information, analysis and context in a clear and concise manner to frame and facilitate management discussions
    • Establish and coordinate the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting process and models, facilitating cross functional collaboration to ensure the budget supports our strategic plan 
    • Integrate into an active and involved role - including planning and reporting - with Neighborhood Goods' network for investors and the company's Board of Directors
    • Manage relationships with external accounting firms and work together to facilitate the monthly close, ensuring proper controls are in place

    VP of Finance requirements include:

    • Experience growing and managing a finance team
    • Strong Excel skills, experience with financial modeling and a solid base in accounting and finance
    • Experience with QuickBooks Online and bill.com  
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
    • Self-starter, proactive, ability to prioritize and shift focus with ease and flexibility
    • Trustworthy and comfortable with sensitive data including salary, equity, etc
    • Team player possessing a strong work ethic and drive for results
    • Passionate about joining a team looking to transform the traditional retail experience
    • Accustomed to contemporary start-up economics and operations displaying a fundamental appreciation of the nuance and fast-pace of the industry
