    Program Coordinator

    Position Definition: Responsible for the implementation of the Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Program, ensuring compliance with Title 9 Regulations. Provides staff supervision and performs a variety of other skilled administrative and clerical duties directly related to program management activities. These include record keeping, maintaining databases, preparing routine and annual reports, and providing customer service to clients. Project Coordinator also attends meetings as assigned representing the organization with city, county and state agencies, coalitions, and the community.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Possession valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License

    Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field.

    Experience:

    1.Two (2) years full-time experience or its equivalent working in a DUI, alcohol or other substance abuse treatment program providing counseling and/or supervision,

    1. Two (2) years of experience providing alcohol and/or other drug treatment or recovery services;

    2. One (1) year of experience supervising personnel; and

    3. One (1) year of experience managing an accounting system, or preparing or directing the preparation of budgets or cost reports. Satisfactory completion of two college-level courses in accounting may be substituted for the one year of experience required in this subsection. As used in this regulation, “satisfactory completion” means attainment of a grade of “C” or better.

    Certificate Required: Must possess certificate as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor, issued by a certifying agency approved by the California Department of Alcohol and Drugs Program

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Knowledge of:

    Current practices of management and supervision

    County mandates, funding sources, organizational structures, and related public services

    Social welfare, housing, and health issues specific to Alcohol and Other Drugs Program population

    Ability to:

    Formulate goals and implement procedures to meet program objectives.

    Work collaboratively with diverse agencies and other program administrators

    Work effectively with constituents, advisory boards, community agencies and the general public

    Supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate staff.

    Prepare clear and concise reports.

    Speak effectively in public forums.

    Typical Duties/Responsibilities:

    Organize and coordinate DUI program activities.

    Process enrollments, dismissal, and participant completion certificates in DMV System.

    Ensure compliance with Title 9, Division 4 Chapter 3

    Makes written and oral reports and presentations regarding program services and operations.

    Supervising DUI Counselors

    Provides work direction to other staff as assigned by the Board of Directors

    Prepares Corrective Action Plan responses assigned by the Board of Directors.

    Responsible for resolving complaints filed participants.

    Train and supervise DUI Counselors and clerical staff as necessary.

    Develops and maintains a coordinated information and referral system.

    Ensures that staff maintain complete and accurate records.

    Collaborates with other alcohol treatment providers to ensure appropriateness of service delivery.

    Other related duties as assigned.
