The Collections Specialist is responsible for the collections and communications of certain properties within the Nelson Partners portfolio of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of a Collections Specialist includes collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced goal-oriented collections department.
Perform daily tasks as follows:
Daily collection calls via phone, text or email
Reduce overall delinquencies
Resolve client disputes, discrepancies and short payments.
Review account adjustments and submit to Director for approval
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts within portfolio
Document all notes in Property Management system and set follow up dates
Prepare and follow up on all approved payment plans
Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Collections Department.
Communicate & follow up daily with Property Management regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.
Essential Functions
Create, maintain & distribute weekly and monthly reporting to direct supervisor
Monthly Delinquency notices
High volume phone calls to assigned accounts
Reconcile disputes
Provide excellent & considerate customer service
Internal and External customer interface
Participate in team planning meetings
Meet defined department goals and activity metrics
Required Skills
1-2 years consumer or corporate collections preferred
Property Management collection experience a plus
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Billing and Collections procedures preferred
Strong attention to detail
