    NeoGraf Solutions is a global company with 125 years in the graphite materials industry, specializing in the development and manufacturing of high quality natural and synthetic graphite sheets and powders used in various applications including the latest high-tech devices, fuel cells, industrial gaskets, fire-rated building materials, and LED lighting. With internal research & development and manufacturing capabilities, NeoGraf is able to provide high quality products utilizing a solutions-oriented approach with customers.

    We are currently seeking a New Business Development Application Engineering Manager.  The NBD applications engineering manager drives technical solution development to focus NGS product offerings and enable customer growth. This is a critical role that focuses on delivering growth opportunities to the business through responsibility for

    1. Providing application specific technical support to drive applications through the stage gate process into commercialization
    2. Creating/developing/collaborating/partnering to generate customer specific technical solutions that will deliver future growth
    3. Leveraging application knowledge and experiences to create new products and markets for NeoGraf Graf-X graphene products

    The NBD applications engineering manager will be measured based on achieving results in these three key areas of responsibility.

    NBD APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT & ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Understand graphene product landscape internally and externally – how products are used, their performance benefits, and the costs.  Be the ‘go to’ graphene application expert
    • Keep abreast of developments in graphene, 2-D materials, and related technology developments (i.e. carbon nanotubes/fibers, boron nitride, carbon black, etc.)
    • Engage with potential customers directly on application development projects related to graphene acting as the main technical point of contact
    • Assist in the development, coordination, and management of R&D and production trials of graphene-related solutions internally, willingness to be ‘hands-on’ in the lab
    • Gather Competitive Intelligence regarding offset products, new technology, customers, markets, strategies and M&A activity on an ongoing basis
    • Identify, Develop and Manage kets partners, collaboraters, contract manufacturers and M&A targets related to graphene
    • Participate on customer sales calls with sales managers as necessary
    • Develop sales / Application leads by attending tradeshows, conferences, and coordinating marketing campaigns with MARCOM
    • Follow up and analyse customer and competitor product samples with support of R&D
    • Understand the KER’s (Key End Use Requirements) of prospective applications
    • Lead development of graphene technology roadmap with support from Product Managers, Marketing, Application Engineers and R&D Group
    • Understand the Application Market, Sub-Market, segment value chain and opportunities for NeoGraf products within it.
    • Maintain graphene-related sales collateral including data sheets, SDSs, presentations, and sales sheets
    • Be a key contributor to development of graphene-related health, safety, and environmental protection certifications and guidelines

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

    • Fluent in English
    • Experience in one of key graphene and/or carbon nanomaterials markets: building & construction (concrete, foams), composites & textiles (thermosets, thermoplastics), CASE Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, & Elastomers, or energy storage
    • Must have minimum of 5 years R&D, NBD, applications engineering, or relevant experience  
    • Bachelors Degree in engineering or science

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

    • Technical experience with graphene or other nanomaterials
    • Polymer chemistry background
    • Valid Drivers License

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Global travel up to 50% to support key customers, partners, and applications
    • Works in a self directed manner, self driven and able to manage time and tasks as required 
    • Ability to work with a virtual team
