    About this position

    Joining a team with leading expertise in targeted protein degradation, you will be instrumental in bringing the power of AI, machine learning, and other advanced computational methods to drug discovery in this exciting field.

    Responsibilities

    • Play a vital role in the development, application, and upkeep of workflows focusing on predictive computational structural biology/chemistry, such as predicting protein complex structures, protein-ligand interactions, and compound properties.
    • Stay abreast of the progress in computational structural biology and artificial intelligence (AI) through proactive literature surveys and code evaluations. Offer strategic recommendations to infuse new techniques and resources into our projects, ensuring they benefit from the latest advances.
    • Effectively provide computational insights and expertise within our cross-functional teams to support project goals and timelines.
    • Contribute to our company's scientific impact by participating in the creation of scientific publications, patents, and presentations.

    Required Qualifications

    • PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Biology, or related quantitative fields. Alternatively, MS in the above fields with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in protein structure analysis, including familiarity with the Protein Data Bank (PDB) and related data formats.
    • Proficient in data analysis in Python and/or R.
    • Strong background in machine learning and deep learning, demonstrated through practical applications and fluency in frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
    • Experience in structure prediction and/or computational design of biomolecules and strong motivation to keep up with the latest advances in these fields. Familiarity with representative methods such as AlphaFold2, ColabFold, Rosetta, RFdiffusion, and ProteinMPNN.
    • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams with non-computational colleagues.
    • Experience contributing to computational projects in a collaborative setting, with a strong commitment to the FAIR principles of data stewardship. Proficient in related skills such as Git and Docker.
    • Enthusiasm for data visualization and demonstrated skills in effective data-driven decision making.
    • Familiarity with cloud computing environments; AWS experience is strongly preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong publications record, with first-author papers in top scientific journals or conferences.
    • Experience applying machine learning to chemistry problems, such as predicting compound properties or protein-ligand affinities. Strong preference for knowledge of Graph Neural Networks, Geometric Deep Learning, or Generative Models.
    • Familiarity with workflow languages in bioinformatics; Nextflow is preferred.
    • Basic understanding of relational databases.
    • Skills related to web development, such as Javascript, and their usage in effective data visualization.
