Job Description
The State of Ohio – Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking a .Net Programmer 5 (PR5) for a long-term onsite role in Columbus, OH. This role will involve new development and modernization of legacy applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, SQL Server, RESTful APIs, Microservices, and Azure DevOps.
The consultant will work closely with IT supervisors, project managers, business analysts, QA developers, and fellow developers in an Agile environment. Responsibilities will include requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, demoing changes, deployment, and ongoing support.
This is a high-visibility role where excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills are required to ensure successful project delivery aligned with public safety initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop and modernize applications in .NET Core / .NET 5/6/8 using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API.
Build secure and scalable solutions implementing N-tier architecture and ODPS coding standards.
Design and optimize SQL Server databases including queries, views, stored procedures, and functions.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, and work tracking in Azure DevOps (TFS).
Contribute to Agile ceremonies (sprints, standups, retrospectives) and deliver increments of value.
Collaborate across teams to design and implement microservices and mobile-compliant applications.
Mentor peers, provide technical leadership, and ensure best practices are followed.
