Overview: The State of Ohio, DPS, is seeking experienced .NET Programmer 5 consultants to work onsite at the Shipley building. The selected candidate will work closely with IT supervisors, project managers, business analysts, QA developers, and other development teams in an agile environment to deliver high-quality .NET applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements gathering, application design, development, and testing

Creating presentations, demoing changes, deploying updates, and providing technical support

Developing new applications and/or rewriting legacy applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, Windows Forms, SQL Server

Ensuring applications comply with N-tier architecture and ODPS coding standards

Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other staff

Requirements & Preferred Skills:

10+ years: ASP.NET Core MVC, C#, SQL Server database design & development, .NET Framework 4.0+, Entity Framework 4.0+, SOA/WCF, N-tier architecture, Azure DevOps/TFS CI/CD

5+ years: Agile methodology, AJAX-enabled web applications, mobile-compliant apps, SSRS reporting, Visual Studio 2019

2+ years: RESTful APIs (.NET Core / .NET 5), Test Driven Development (TDD)

Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and leadership skills

Independent coding, problem-solving, and time/resource management skills

Ability to mentor technical staff and present ideas effectively

Candidate Requirements:

Must comply with government equipment restrictions (cannot be used outside the U.S.)

Must be local to Columbus, OH or willing to relocate

Must be able to attend in-person interviews at 1970 West Broad Street

Interview Process:

15-minute Teams intro interviews followed by full onsite interviews

Background check conducted by ODPS
