    Subject Matter Expert (COMSEC)

    Position Code: PWS 3.2.1 (J)

    Clearance Level: Active Top Secret/SCI (Required at time of submission)

    Location: Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD

    Hours: Monday – Friday, normal business hours

    Hybrid Eligible: Yes, subject to agency policy

    Travel: Up to 25%

    Roles/Responsibilities:

    In the role of Subject Matter Expert (COMSEC) , you will leverage your expertise to:

    · Lead the design and integration of complex tactical networks, including IP-based networks, SATCOM, and terrestrial transmission systems.

    · Manage and maintain Type 1/High Assurance cryptographic devices in support of overarching COMSEC programs.

    · Oversee the implementation and operation of Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and tactical tools (iApp, ACES, SKL, TKL, and NGLD).

    · Integrate voice and tactical radio networks into broader enterprise network architectures.

    · Serve as a technical lead for Information Assurance System Engineering and firewall administration.

    · Provide strategic technical guidance to ensure the integrity of secure communication links across varied transmission platforms.

    Requirements:

    · Experience: Minimum of twenty-five (25) years of Information Technology experience.

    · Specialized Expertise: Extensive background in COMSEC management and tactical network design.

    · Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Key Management Systems (KMI, SKL, TKL, etc.) and high-assurance cryptographic hardware.

    · Security Foundation: Proven experience in Information Assurance principles and firewall administration.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    · Prior experience within a DoD Program Executive Office (PEO), specifically supporting C3N Tactical Network systems.

    · Advanced certifications in Network Engineering or Information Assurance (e.g., CCIE, CISSP).

    · Demonstrated ability to translate complex tactical requirements into scalable, secure network architectures.
