    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    NetSEA Technologies is seeking network engineers that will serve as a subject matter expert for communication systems to include but not limited to Joint Network Node (JNN), Satellite Transportable Terminal (STT), Regional Hub Node (RHN), Soldier Network Extension (SNE), Tactical Radio (TR) and Tactical Communications Node (TCN) in the engineering analysis of critical Army tactical telecommunications infrastructure.

    CLEARANCE LEVEL: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship possessing Secret clearance or higher

    LOCATION: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

    HOURS: Normal business hours Monday - Friday

    TRAVEL: up to 25%

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The candidate will work on a wide range of engineering, testing and acquisition challenges and will be involved in supporting the development, acquisition, and testing of communications technology to support the Army's wide area tactical communications networks which currently use a combination of terrestrial line-of-sight (LOS) and Beyond LOS(BLOS) radio communications, wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and IP networking. Example duties include but not limited to:

    • Installs, operates, and maintains all lab Tactical Network (formerly WIN-T) and higher echelon transport equipment.
    • Loads all firmware/updates for Tactical Network systems.
    • Installs, operates, and maintains lab equipment.
    • Loads and validates all data products.
    • Performs functional routing, gateway, and performance testing of Tactical Network.
    • Provides feedback on data product problems.
    • Assists with test execution, writes test plans and reports.
    • Maintain lab Network Backbone (Switches, Routers, Firewalls) as well as the Tactical Network (Switches, Routers, Firewalls and inter/intra connects.
    • Deploys router and switch configurations modeled after the TNAC files and PDSS drops.
    • Modifies lab networking equipment to integrate with external facilities.
    • Works with Tactical Network personnel to make modifications to baseline configuration files as required by the customer's findings.
    • Documents network and updates as changes occur.
    • Provides network diagrams and other documentation as required.
    • Troubleshoots customer support issues as they arise.
    • Troubleshoots network issues with NOC personnel as they arise.
    • Troubleshoots external network issues as they arise.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Business or equivalent (computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or relates scientific or technical discipline). Five (5) additional years of relevant experience or military experience substituted for education.

    1.  A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in technical analysis of communications systems design.
    2.  Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNA) and/or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification preferred.
    3.  Process and detailed oriented with a strong desire to learn.
    4.  Analyzing information, Strong written and oral communications skills
    5.  Significant experience with MS Office suite specifically PowerPoint
    6.  Experience is required in (12) or more of the following areas:
    • Transport architecture analysis and evolution strategy including but not limited to; optical fiber, terrestrial wireless, routing and switching technologies (IP/MPLS), leased circuit aggregation/optimization and capacity management and expansion planning
    • Infrastructure performance modeling, simulation, monitoring and analysis
    • Network component/device test, evaluation, market analysis and business case preparation
    • Network timing and synchronization distribution, performance, reliability and availability analysis
    • Current knowledge of wireless and SATCOM networks; within 3-5 years
    • Subject Matter Expertise of Tactical Networks (formerly WIN-T) systems/architecture products.
    • Cisco Experience to include: Cisco IOS and NXOS, Cisco ISE, Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, Cisco ASA.
    • Routing Protocols BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP as well as proficiency in MULTICAST; a background with designing and implementing LANs and VLANs.
    • Experience with WAVE voice interoperability solution desirable.
    • Experience with VOIP, Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express, Redcom Sigma Core.
    • Experience with network protocol analysis using Sniffer, wireshark or similar tool.
    • VMWare experience: VMware Networking.
    • Familiarity with Army Software Baselines and Architectures.
    • Experience working with Microsoft and Active Directory.
    • Knowledge and understanding of integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of communication systems that are currently being fielded to Army BCT and SFAB Units (Tactical Networks, Tactical Radio systems, JCR/JBC-P, Mission Command systems, etc.).
    • In-depth experience in training, fielding, and support the C4ISR systems mentioned above.
    • Knowledge and understanding current/future Force tactical and strategic military communications networks, as well as the architecture, protocols, security, network management and physics underlying these systems.
    • The ability to build and develop relevant training modules
    • The ability to conduct technical coordination between PEO, PMs and units.
    • The ability to conduct and coordinate sustainment/refresher training.
    • Provide engineering expertise in multiple CS component area to include:
    • Tactical multi-channel satellite ground and commercial terminal programs (T2C2, GRRIP, SMART-T, Scout)
    • SATCOM baseband systems
    • BFT Systems (JCR/JBC-P)
    • Nett Warrior (NW) and NW Mission Planning
    • Tactical Radio Systems (SRW and TSM radios)
    • SRW/TSM planning/configuration tools (JTNT)
    • Mission Command Systems (CPOF, Ventrilo)
    • MATV/Stryker/HMMWV ancillary systems
    • Emerging Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) systems
    • Technical Coordination with Army BCT and SFAB Units
    • Tactical networking, transmission, and/or applications expertise
    • Experience Converse and support soldiers at all echelons
    • Maintain a unit's Capability Set (CS) architecture documents, configurations, etc.
    • Integration of Radio/Network/SATCOM systems in HMMWV/Stryker/MATVs
    • Integration of Tactical Networks into Theater/Strategic Networks
    • Direct support on PM systems if PM rep is not available
    • Development technical training modules, reference guides, and associated training materials for various subject areas
