Detailed Description
Netsync's Technical Editor I manages multiple, simultaneous projects from start to finish under tight deadline constraints. The Technical Editor I is expected to bring new ideas and experience to the team, so Netsync can continue to strive for quality documentation that best reflects Netsync's values.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform substantive edits on client-facing and internal documents, such as:
- o Statements of work
- o Employee profiles
- o Design/as-built documentation
- o Security assessments
- o Marketing materials
- o Case studies/project cut sheets
- o Internal communications
- o Proposal submittals
- o Procedure guides
Additional Duties
- Assist other departments, such as HR, with projects, as needed, to include PowerPoint presentations and internal document proofreading
- Manage annual employee profile updates
- Construct form templates for internal departments
Skills and Experience
- Strong communication skills, including English grammar and writing
- Working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style guidelines
- Editing experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Self-starter attitude who needs minimal direction
- Ability to prioritize work
- Very strong attention to detail
- Able to maintain consistency in editing, yet strive to continuously improve documentation by learning new techniques and proposing new ideas for improvement
- Able to edit across seven different technology practices, each with its own set of acronyms and jargon
- Interest in working collaboratively with editing team, as well as other colleagues
- Keen attention to detail and desire to learn new technologies
- Basic administrative skills
Minimum Qualifications/Technical and Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Arts degree in English or related field (or near completion)
Experience working in Microsoft SharePoint preferred
Monitor the CRM technical editing queue
Interact with document authors to produce the best, most thorough documentation
Coordinate with the proposals team on responses, as needed
