Detailed Description
DESCRIPTION: The Managed Services Systems Administrator will be the technical lead that is responsible for building, managing and monitoring all installed and growing list of NOC and SOC tools and software. The Managed Services Systems Administrator will demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified systems administrators will have a background in IT, systems administration/engineering, data and/or analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- § Configure and manage all NOC and SOC tools and software
- § Configure systems integration through database, API or scripting
- § Ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability and security
- § Recommend tools, software, systems or enhancements to deliver a feature rich NOC / SOC offerings
- § Recommend process improvements to drive efficiency
- § Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks and identify possible solutions
- § Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies
- § Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on any task
- § Provide support for complex issues that require escalation
- § Liaison with vendors and other IT personnel for system or problem resolution
- § Maintain strong working relationship with customers and team
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- RHCE certification is preferred
- Preferred experience with Logic Monitor, Alien Vault, Solarwinds, Syslog, Traps, Netflow, Database/SQL, and/or Scripting
- Experience with *nix, scripting & database
- Extensive experience with monitoring concepts, technologies and tools
- Experience with SNMP, MIBs, SIEM, IDS, Log Collection
- Passion for Information Security
- 3+ years of working experience in information security, technical operations, or similar capacities
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
- Experience with vulnerability management and access management programs
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with individuals across various levels
- Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams.
- Exceptional people skills with demonstrated ability to work with both a technical and functional audience.
- Working knowledge of system architectures, Windows and Mac internals, as well as iOS and android
- Good understanding of information security principles and IT infrastructure including operating systems, applications, communications and network protocols.
- Knowledge to utilize solutions built using various coding languages (Java, C#, VBA, Vbscript, Perl and Shell script, etc.) preferred
- Solid understanding of networking and security including routing/networking and TCP-IP protocols such as SMTP, HTTP, POP3, IMAP, command line interfaces
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 5 years IT industry experience in systems administration, understanding monitoring protocols and having a background in NOC/SOC environments. (Preferred experience, but not required, with Logic Monitor, Alien Vault, Solarwinds, Syslog, Traps, Netflow, Database/SQL, and/or Scripting. RHCE certification is desired).
