  • Responsibilities

    Safe Passage Ambassadors are responsible for monitoring and ensuring safe passage of children to and from school designated locations. The Safe Passage Ambassador is also responsible for maintaining positive and strong community relationships. Safe Passage workers are employed by Network Connect, a community-based organization in partnership with the school communities that they serve.

    Skills:

    Successful candidates will typically possess the following qualifications:

    ● Very knowledgeable (or preferably a member) of the community they wish to serve

    ● Able to demonstrate a commitment to serving our students

    ● Able to demonstrate an ability to build relationships with students and de-escalate conflicts

    ● Consistent track record for being reliable and on time

    ● Able to physically stand for long periods of time and tolerate all weather conditions

    ● Able to work a flexible schedule which includes mornings, afternoons, and some weekends

    ● Able to read and write incident reports

    ● Must be able to pass Background Check and possess a valid Drivers License

    ● Access to reliable transportation

    ● Additional qualifications may apply for each specific vendor

    Qualifications:

    ● 3-5 Years Experience direct youth engagement services

    ● Proven working knowledge of intervention and prevention skills

    ● Demonstrated Facilitation experience working with youth

    ● Culturally competent in the needs and services of youth and families in high needs areas

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    ● Ensure safe passage before and after school

    ● Provide presence at designated areas within the community

    ● Monitors school premises, areas and 'hot spots'

    ● Be a liaison and/or advocate for community youth and needed well-being resources
