    Job Title: Network engineer / WAN Engineer

    Location: Alpharetta, GA

    Fulltime

    About the Role:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer / WAN Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. This role involves working on-site 5 days a week from our Offshore Development Center (ODC) and collaborating closely with architects, field engineers, and cross-functional project teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and establish network systems by defining system structure and standards.
    • Plan and implement scalable network solutions to improve existing IT infrastructure.
    • Monitor and optimize network performance; troubleshoot issues and outages.
    • Collaborate with network architects to enhance performance and reliability.
    • Investigate and resolve LAN and WAN failures using various diagnostic tools.
    • Configure and maintain routing, switching devices, hosted IP voice services, and firewalls.
    • Ensure security of the network by implementing and enforcing policies and access controls.
    • Manage firewall configurations aligned with organizational IT security standards.
    • Upgrade and maintain data network equipment to the latest stable platforms.
    • Provide remote support during field installations and post-installation issue resolution.
    • Conduct regular capacity management and audits of IP networks and hosted devices.
    • Generate operational reports and status updates based on network activity and performance.
    • Interface regularly with project managers, engineers, and technical support staff.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including WAN/LAN environments.
    • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewall configuration, and network protocols.
    • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting network-related issues and providing solutions.
    • Familiarity with firewall technologies and IT security best practices.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and onsite environment.

    Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

    • Cisco, Juniper, or other networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
    • Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries.
    • Prior experience with voice over IP (VoIP) technologies.
