Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer II to support the development and maintenance of a network lab environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, functionality, and scalability of lab infrastructure used for testing and validation activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with network hardware, demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, deploy, and maintain network lab infrastructure to support engineering and testing initiatives
Integrate new network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls, into the lab environment
Perform advanced troubleshooting and break/fix support for network and hardware-related issues
Coordinate the delivery, installation, and setup of lab equipment and systems
Support switch and network testbeds used for software validation and performance testing
Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records of all lab equipment and assets
Provide console access and manage system control modules (SCMs) as needed
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure lab readiness and reliability
Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support operational excellence
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in network engineering or lab environments
Proven hands-on experience with network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
IP addressing (DHCP, SLAAC, Static IP)
VLAN configuration and subnetting
Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS
Familiarity with network management and access protocols, including SSH, Telnet, HTTP/HTTPS
Working knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, console access, and system modules
Basic understanding of power infrastructure, including PSUs, PDUs, and voltage requirements
Experience utilizing inventory management systems for asset tracking
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working within a network lab or testing environment
Knowledge of lab safety standards, procedures, and best practices
