Network Engineer (Onsite – Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Independence, Ohio
MCPC is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support one of our key clients located onsite in Independence, OH. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a motivated IT professional who thrives in a dynamic, enterprise-scale environment—particularly within highly regulated industries such as financial services.
In this role, you will implement, support, and optimize the client’s LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN infrastructure to ensure high availability and secure operations. You’ll work closely with internal IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant network solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement, manage, and support enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments.
• Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure network solutions align with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and support network technologies including routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, and network appliances.
• Support network automation efforts, patch management, and application delivery.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using tools such as Syslog, ACS, NetFlow, SolarWinds, and protocol analyzers.
• Participate in technology evaluations, contribute to standards development, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure high availability across distributed environments operating 24/7.
• Maintain ITSM processes including change control, CMDB updates, and ticket management.
Experience & Skills:
• 3–5 years of experience implementing and managing complex enterprise network environments.
• Experience in financial services environments highly preferred.
• Strong background with network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto.
• Proficiency in network security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and NAC solutions.
• Working knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure networking (VNET, ExpressRoute, vWAN, etc.).
• Solid understanding of network security, encryption standards, and intermediate troubleshooting.
• Ability to work with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA devices.
• Prior experience supporting 24/7, geographically dispersed operations.
• Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse technical teams.
• Proven ability to balance strategic technology planning with day-to-day operational support.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Financial Services, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Preferred Certifications:
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent.
