    Job Title: Network & Fiber Optic Technician

    Location: Seattle, WA Job Type: Limited Contract Salary: $30 - $40 USD per hour (Based on Experience)

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Technician with Fiber Optic skills for a project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a network infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime & performance. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables. You will be the interface person for LAN/WAN connectivity, hardware installation, and ensuring systems run seamlessly to support client operations. You will ensure that all work meets industry standards and company specifications to deliver high-quality connectivity.

    Project Term: 45 days, starting in late May

    Key Responsibilities:

    Monitoring & Security: Monitor network performance (LAN/WAN)

    Testing & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve any network failures, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks, reducing downtime. Utilize industry-standard test equipment, including OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), power meters, and fiber identifiers to troubleshoot, repair, and validate network performance.

    Documentation: Document network configurations, maps, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.

    Safety & Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and manage network devices. Adhere to all safety protocols (PPE), OSHA standards, and company procedures.

    Client Coordination: Work with clients and hardware to maintain uptime and manage technical issues and equipment, if necessary.

    Installation: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, and cabling (Cat5/6, Fiber).

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing, testing, and maintenance.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

    Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.

    Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly preferred

    Requirements:

    Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

    Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and on-call for emergency restoration.
