About the Role:

Select Minds LLC is looking for a talented Network Security Engineer to join our growing team in Dallas, TX. Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain network security architectures, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)

Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents and threats in real time

Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis across network infrastructure

Configure and manage VPNs, access control lists (ACLs), and zero-trust network policies

Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all systems

Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and incident response procedures

Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and compliance requirements (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.)

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in network security engineering or a related cybersecurity role

Proficiency with firewalls, SIEM tools, and network monitoring platforms (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Splunk)

Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and network protocols

Experience with cloud security environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
