Responsibilities:

• Gather network security requirements
• Configure/implement/upgrade Palo Alto/CheckPoint firewalls and VPN
• Configure Palo Alto/CheckPoint firewall policies
• Optimize firewall rules
• Configure dynamic protocols, to include RIP, OSPF, and BGP
• Assist in implementing Guardicore Micro-segmentation zero trust

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience configuring CheckPoint or Palo Alto firewalls
• Solid networking fundamentals (understands TCP/IP, how traffic flows)
• Experience gathering security requirements and designing network security
• Experience defining and configuring firewall policies
• Experience optimizing firewall rules
• Experience configuring dynamic protocols RIP, OSPF, and BGP
• Excellent understanding of security architecture and integration
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
• Proficient in Visio diagramming and design documentation
• Good documentation skills — policy decisions, application flow maps, exceptions, etc.
