We are seeking a Network Specialist (Journeyman) to provide technical guidance, monitoring, and maintenance of DoD information systems operations. This role involves network troubleshooting, performance evaluation, and reporting , ensuring system integrity, security, and operational effectiveness within military environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance for monitoring and directing information systems operations.
- Compile and maintain records and reports on network performance, operations, and maintenance.
- Monitor and respond to hardware, software, and network performance issues , escalating as necessary.
- Evaluate network performance results , recommending improvements to optimize system efficiency.
- Support deliverables and performance metrics , ensuring alignment with DoD security and operational requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of secure network architectures within defense environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams , supporting IT system enhancements and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, risk management frameworks (RMF), and operational security standards.
Required Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science , Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
Experience:
* Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or higher.
Skills:
* Strong knowledge of network troubleshooting, system monitoring, and performance optimization.
* Ability to interpret and implement DoD security protocols and network defense strategies.
* Effective communication and reporting skills to support operational decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with classified defense systems and secure DoD infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud-based network solutions (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Certifications such as Security+, CCNA, or DoD-approved networking credentials.
