    Position Summary

    We’re seeking a Network and Data Security Engineer with deep expertise in cloud networking (AWS), IoT and wireless device networks, and enterprise security compliance. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and securing our infrastructure, leading managed IT services, and ensuring all systems and processes meet SOC 2 Type II compliance standards. You’ll work closely with the engineering and product teams, while also managing urgent field support requests and internal IT operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Network Engineering & Security

    • Design, configure, and maintain AWS-based network infrastructure.

    • Secure and manage IoT device communications across wireless gateways, access points, and VPNs.

    • Implement and manage Zero Trust Networks across cloud and local environments.

    • Ensure uptime and secure routing for hybrid cloud and edge-based deployments.

    • Compliance & Risk Management

    • Lead efforts for SOC 2 Type II audit readiness and ongoing compliance.

    • Maintain documentation and systems that support security policies, incident response, and business continuity.

    • Oversee network security, encryption standards, and vulnerability assessments.

    • IT Support & Managed Services

    • Manage and support internal IT systems and end-user devices, including desktop support and break/fix services.

    • Run a small managed services team, ensuring SLA compliance and prioritization of critical support issues.

    • Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting across client environments as needed.

    **Required Qualifications
    -**Proven experience with:
    - AWS networking and security services (VPCs, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
    - IoT wireless networks, including gateways and access points.
    - Traditional networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLANs, firewalls).
    - VPN configuration and secure remote access.
    - Zero Trust network design and implementation.
    - Hands-on experience preparing and supporting SOC 2 Type II or similar audits.
    - Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, AWS Security, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
    - Strong familiarity with desktop support tools, ticketing systems, and managed services operations.
    - Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities and a commitment to meeting and exceeding SLAs.
    - Excellent communication and documentation skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Experience supporting energy management, smart building systems, or industrial IoT deployments.

    · Familiarity with LoRaWAN, BACnet/IP, MQTT, or Modbus communications.

    · Experience with MDM tools and endpoint protection solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).

    · Knowledge of automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
