  • Responsibilities

    Your role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional. You'll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And you'll also act as the main point of contact for employees' queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department's operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.

    The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
    • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
    • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
    • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
    • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
    • Conducts new-employee Onboarding, orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and help organize training & development initiatives.
    • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
    • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
    • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
    • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
    • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
    • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
    • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.
    • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
    • Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews.
    • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
    • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities.
    • Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
    • Help with Workers Compensation claims.
    • Respond to Employment Verification.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities, however is responsible for managing process and ATS/HRIS systems.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • This job operates in a professional office environment.
    • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
    • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

     

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    • This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    TRAVEL

    • This position requires up to 25% travel. Some of the travel may be international.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • A bachelor's degree and three to five years of HR experience, or a master's degree in HR management and two years of experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
    • Proven experience as an HR Generalist.
    • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
    • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
    • Experience tracking/managing FMLA.
    • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. PeopleSoft) will be a plus.
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Aptitude in problem-solving.
    • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
    • Strong business acumen.
    • Experience working with outside Human Resource Vendors.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources.
    • PHR or SHRM certification preferred.

    WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE

    • There is no visa or H1-B sponsorship. Candidates must successfully complete a criminal record screening or FBI Fingerprints requirements.
    • Successful completion of a thorough personal reference check and background check from the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health. Note that any applicant with a violent felony or drug-related offense (Conclusion of sentence, probation, and/or incarceration within the past 10 years) is not eligible to become a dispensary agent.
