Job Summary
We are seeking a high-energy New Business Development Manager with a "hunter" instinct and deep technical expertise in metal finishing. You will drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities for specialty conversion coatings, including phosphating, black oxide, and passivation. This role requires a unique blend of chemical process knowledge and strategic relationship management to secure high-value contracts.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development: Identify and capture new high-volume opportunities for specialty finishing services, focusing on conversion coatings and corrosion protection.
Technical Consultation: Serve as a subject matter expert for clients, advising on the best coating solutions based on performance requirements.
Specification Management: Ensure all proposals and processes meet stringent industry standards.
Pipeline & Forecasting: Manage the complete sales cycle in the CRM (e.g., Salesforce), providing accurate forecasting and market analysis to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality Manager and Production Manager to oversee technical trials and ensure successful project execution.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of proven success in technical sales within the metal finishing or specialty chemical industries.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of surface preparation, chemical bath concentrations, and finishing processes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Business (Engineering background highly preferred).
Mobility: Willingness to travel (typically 70-100%) to visit client facilities and attend industry trade shows.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $82,500 - $89,500
Performance Incentives: Uncapped commission based on quota attainment.
