Responsibilities: • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team • Get treatment rooms ready for for examination and procedures by equipping them with necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials • Meet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during appointment • Ensure dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use • Schedule appointments for patient care follow up, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums, after procedures • Maintain sterilization and room preparation • Take vital signs and update medical history as needed • Explain scheduled treatment, obtain consent forms, and deliver post-op instructions • Impressions and model fabrication • Radiographs and intraoral imaging • Assist with polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealant application • Chair-side assisting, including suctioning & 4-handed dentistry • Fillings placement • Temporary crowns fabrication • Nitrous administration and monitoring • Charting and note-taking • Proper maintenance of biohazards, sterilizers, amalgam separators, waterlines, and handpieces • Ensuring patient comfort throughout the procedure or examination • Coordinate follow-up appointments, Post-ops, and home care for patients • Specialty referrals and prescription care • Provide exceptional patient care and help the team stay on time • EDDA certification is a must! Qualifications: • Must possess a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) state licensure by the Dental Assisting National Board's (DANB) • Current BLS/CPR certification is required • Computer skills and experience with dental software and updating patient histories is needed • Previous dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant (2 years) is necessary • Superb interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are desired • A minimum of three years of experience as a dental assistant • Sterilization and asepsis • OSHA/HIPAA knowledge • Able to take X-rays (digital) including bitewings, vertical bitewings, FMX, and single PA's • Able to take and pour impressions and trim/prepare for bite guard/whitening tray fabrication • Coronal polishing, flossing, fluoride application, and hygiene instructions • Knowledge of general dentistry, including implants, clear aligners, major restorative and endodontics • EDDA certification is highly valued Compensation: $26 - $30 hourly
