Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  New England Forestry Consultants, Inc. is seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial, and dedicated consulting forester for one of our center offices in Vermont.   Primary job duties will be conducting timber harvest marking and layout, inspections and supervision, as well as completing forest inventories, boundary marking, preparing forest management plans, timber cruising and working with NRCS funded programs. There is significant potential within a few years to progress to center management.

QUALIFICATIONS:  We are looking for a person with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.  A minimum of a two-year forestry degree is required.  An additional three to five years of experience as a forester is preferred.  Computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, as well as good verbal and written communication skills, are required. GIS knowledge and ARCView experience is also desired.  A Vermont pesticide applicator license will be required to be obtained within a year of hire and a Vermont forester license within two years of hire.
