Qualifications:
- Tube bending experience is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude with expertise in metal fabrication and machine operation.
- Familiarity with computer and CNC controls is beneficial, with a willingness and ability to learn quickly.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, protractors, tape measures, and scales.
- Basic math skills, including arithmetic, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra, for material fabrication calculations.
- Understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerance interpretation.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs repetitively.
- Forklift experience preferred.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Operate, load, and unload materials and parts, set bend angles, prove programs, and inspect quality parts for conformance to requirements.
- Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Ensure production rates are met or exceeded.
- Identify equipment malfunctions or machining deviations and make adjustments within capabilities to maintain production quality; report malfunctions to management.
- Collaborate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel to address assignments and resolve machining or quality issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and work area; perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Propose and implement improvements in processes.
- Communicate production-related information to the next shift bender operator or shift supervisors.
- Complete all required safety procedures before and during operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
