Position Overview
The Purchasing / Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of procurement for our CPG (consumer products goods) manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the CPG industry's supply chain dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier diversification
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, reliability, and sustainability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions while mitigating risks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, finance, shipping, and customer service to ensure seamless coordination of procurement activities
Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory management strategies to optimize working capital and minimize stockouts
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, address any issues or discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as necessary
Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting procurement practices in the CPG sector
Utilize procurement software and tools to streamline processes, track key performance metrics, and generate insights for continuous improvement
Drive initiatives to enhance sustainability and ethical sourcing practices across the supply chain, aligning with corporate social responsibility goals

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the CPG manufacturing industry
Proven track record of successful supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost savings initiatives
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in software including Infor, Syteline or similar platforms is a plus
Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is desirable but not required
$110,000-130,000, depending on experience.
