  • Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for Monitoring the daily work flow for the Transportations payable department. They also assist the transportation Payables department with internal audits for the QMS.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Enhance processes within the Transportation Payables Department for added responsibilities for leads;
    • Complete as necessary new or re-written procedures, documents and work instructions for the QMS that pertain to Transportation Payables;
    • Oversee all functions related to accurate and timely payment of transportation vendors;
    • Main point of contact for USD Wires, P Card and ACH payments;
    • Correspond with vendors to settle major disputes and accounts placed for collection;
    • Set up and settle month end Transportation Payables disputes with franchises and stations;
    • Perform reviews of entire Transportation Payables Department;
    • Assist with maintaining all cartage and airline master files for payables issues;
    • Reports to Chief Financial Officer; special projects as assigned by the Executive Vice President of Domestic/Canadian Operations & Traffic

    SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
    • Strong math, verbal and written communications skills
    • Excellent command of computer skills to interact with customers, stations and other departments
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to multitask

    EDUCATION:
    • High school Diploma or equivalent

    EXPERIENCE

    2+ years of transportation payable experience required

    • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    This is a clerical administrative position in a professional office setting. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, stoop, bend and reach. Extensive use of a phone and a PC is required. Position may require to work remotely at times.
