    Job Title: Deckhand

    Reports To: First Mate

    Job Summary: Work diligently on the Creole Queen or Riverboat Louis Armstrong to provide a safe, secure and pleasing experience.

    Qualifications:

    · High School diploma or equivalent required.

    · Must be 18 years old to apply.

    · Prior marine experience preferred, but not required.

    · Must pass a USCG physical exam which includes a Drug Test and submit to random drug screens per USCG regulations.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Able to timely respond to all drills and emergencies (Fire, Man over Board, Collision, Abandon Ship). The Company will train each individual these drills.

    • Able to check all spaces of the vessel as directed.

    • Able to accurately and efficiently sand, grind and paint exterior and interior of vessel. Also, able to pressure wash exterior of vessel.

    • Able to perform and assist others with functions such as adjust wires and lines (especially during Departure and Landing the vessel), raise and lower passenger ramp, assist with the vacuuming of carpets, removing trash, cleaning windows, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

    • Assist in boarding of passengers either at the gangway or at specifically assigned locations on the vessel to assist in efficient passenger movement.

    • Assist in banquet set-ups, which includes moving and arranging tables and chairs as specified by the Sales Department. Banquet set-ups are subject to change at any time before an event, per the client’s request.

    • Must be able to understand and communicate in English.

    • Must be able to work a variety of hours, holidays, and weekends.

    • May be required to perform other duties assigned.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to provide or obtain a TWIC card.

    Work Environment:

    · Will be subject to extreme weather conditions

    · Must be able to lift, pull, and push +50 lbs.

    · Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk without assistance, ascend and descend stairs, bend, reach, stretch, respond to audible commands and have visual acuity.
