What You'll Do:

· Provide excellent internal and external customer service

· Create and audit department systems, and train Meat & Seafood Leads in systems

· Provide department-level support as needed at all locations

· Plan Meat & Seafood promotions and coordinate product displays

· Analyze and execute category management, case sets, and pricing, achieving margin and turn goals as assigned

· Evaluate new vendors, ensuring adherence to relevant health and safety regulations

· Visit local producers contributing to Meat & Seafood program

· Assess fixture and equipment needs with Store Managers and Purchasing

· Attend and contribute to Coordinator meetings

· Attend and contribute to store-level meetings, All-In meetings, department meetings, and other group events/discussions as necessary

· Attend trade shows

· Other tasks as assigned by Purchasing Director

What We're Looking For:

· A communicative, thoughtful candidate with excellent people skills and excellent data skills

· Commitment to work positively with others in a collaborative environment where teamwork and constant communication are essential

· Practical understanding of Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Excel.

· A minimum of 3 years of purchasing and merchandising for a major department in the natural or conventional food industry.

· Knowledge of retail natural foods industry

Physical Requirements

· Standing, bending, reaching, walking

· Must have a high level of mobility/flexibility in the space provided

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

· Exposure to heat, cold, and odors

· Working in a retail grocery store and office environment

Salary 50,000 - 60,000 depending on experience and tenure
