We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive New Product Development (NPD) Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts throughout the product development lifecycle. In this role, you will partner closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Engineering, and Operations to ensure that new aerospace products meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements in alignment with AS9100 standards. A strong working knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles is essential.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, or related Engineering field
3–10 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or design engineering environment
Hands-on experience with APQP tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and PPAP documentation
Familiarity with the design and product development process, including design reviews, validation/verification, and prototype builds
Understanding of AS9100 quality management system requirements
Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and levels
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
Familiarity with test witnessing and design validation practices
Participate in design reviews to ensure customer and quality requirements are considered early in development
Lead and support quality planning throughout product development using APQP methodology
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) features and support Design for Quality (DFQ) initiatives
Review Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs) and ensure alignment with design intent
Support and witness validation and qualification testing; document and escalate deviations as needed
Monitor prototype and pre-production builds, proactively addressing risks related to quality and manufacturability
Work with Manufacturing and Production Quality teams to establish robust inspection criteria and process controls
Prepare and maintain PPAP packages, First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and other launch deliverables
Ensure compliance with AS9100, maintain audit readiness, and ensure documentation traceability during design transfer and production launch
