The New Washington State Bank is looking for a talented Asset Recovery Manager to add to our team. This position will direct and coordinate collection activities and supervises collections staff. They will be responsible for obtaining updates and remaining current on legal issues and proper documentation involved with collection of delinquent accounts. This role will oversee charge-off accounts, repossessions, lawsuits, bankruptcies, and most litigation on assigned accounts; provides regular reporting internally regarding collections, charge-off, and recovery activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contacts delinquent, charged-off, or high-risk customers in order to secure payment and determine reason for delinquency on active loan accounts.
Works with customers to establish full balance repayment plans or settlements.
Plans for and manages bankruptcy and insolvency cases with the ability to multitask various cases concurrently.
Meets with debtors to strike a compromise solution for settling out of court before the relationship turns adversarial, which is to be prevented as much as possible.
Plans and implements programs for developing relationships with key banking professionals in the insolvency & litigation community.
Ensures that staff have the tools they need to perform their jobs satisfactorily, including approved plans, a detailed budget, etc. Evaluate performance of staff to assess the progress on jobs and the strategy that they are employing to achieve the objectives.
Analyzes collaterals and secured assets for a negotiated or court-adjudicated settlement to minimize bank losses.
Provides management with regular updates on the progress of insolvency cases being handled and their settlement prognosi
Ensures that staff performs their job duties in a safe compliant manner taking all reasonable precautions. Hold regular and frequent compliant discussions and meetings to continually reinforce the security message.
Prepare appropriate annual, monthly and weekly plans and ensure that each staff member understands how he or she fits into those plans. Set reasonable goals with deadlines for completion and monitor the compliance with such plans and achievement of such deadlines.
Ensures that staff understand the overall company objectives as well as their individual departmental objectives and that they work together to achieve the stated objectives. Be available to help resolve conflicting objectives. Reinforce continuously respectful communication between all departments.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or economics from a four-year college or university; or equivalent 5 years of experience in consumer, mortgage, and/or commercial loans with focus on debt collection and risk management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
