    Job Description

    LONG TERM ASSIGNMENT MONDAY - FRIDAY 7.5 HRS A DAY.  JOB DESCRIPTION FOR BNE TEMP The successful candidate will assist with administrative functions related to the department/bureau which will include but not be limited to: Answer all incoming calls for Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement New York City Office and where necessary refer callers to Narcotic Investigators. Processing of all Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement controlled substance destructions request and make notifications of approvals to applicants. Data entry of all destruction request and controlled substance list Police Pro database to document all Controlled substance destructions in accordance with Part 80 of Controlled Substance Act. Maintain record keeping system consisting of archived records for a period of no less than five (5) years from date of filing. Process daily activity reports for all investigators on a month by month basis and upon completion forward completed reports to supervisor for approval signature and forwarding to Central office. Photocopying, scanning, and emailing all pertinent documents for New York City Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement. Processing of annual National U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Take Back controlled substance request and transferring data onto spreadsheet for forwarding to the Drug Enforcement Administration to coordinate collections. Review and distribution of all incoming and outgoing correspondence/packages. Brief Investigators on monthly statistical reports, complaints called in and field assignments being conducted. Maintaining all office equipment and where necessary ordering of office supplies as needed. Should be dependable, highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously. Minimum qualifications include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel; the ability to work on a team and handle multiple, shifting priorities; good organizational skills; comfort conducting online searches, and familiarity working in electronic databases. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with and knowledge of contracts, familiarity and knowledge of Part 80 of Controlled Substance Act., familiarity and knowledge of the Department of Health BNE associated programs, and prior experience working in a New York State Department of Health environment. #ZR
