Primary Purpose: Install hydraulic elements to the body of garbage trucks.
General Description: Assemble, mount, and plumb hydraulic components to the fabricated body of garbage trucks.
Essential Duties
Assemble hydraulic components in an efficient manner to maximize production and minimize waste.
Maintains accuracy of products by following work orders.
Mount and plumb hydraulic components to the fabricated product.
Maintain/produce a level of inventory that will minimize production delays.
Inspects own work for leaks and other problems and makes corrections as needed.
Operate a forklift to move around subassemblies.
Other Duties
Math skills including fractions and angles.
Good communication.
Read tape measure and angle finder.
Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
Understand hydraulics including pumps, valves, cylinders, and plumbing of components.
Mechanical knowledge relative to operating hose fitting machine.
Flare and bend hydraulic tubes.
Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Department and Maintenance Department.
Assist other individuals in areas when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience: 1 year preferred using hand and power tools.
