You will work as an individual and as part of a project team, while receiving regular feedback in preparation for a final presentation to company leaders.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE FOCUSED IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

    • Participate in the development and implementation of beneficial programs/projects aimed at improving environmental efficiency, employee safety, and equipment ergonomics
    • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting of operational safety, environmental and sustainability metrics
    • Participate on new equipment launch teams to complete requirements for HSE, including job hazard analysis, personal protective equipment assessments, machine guarding assessments, waste evaluations and HSE regulatory permitting
    • Investigate and contribute to the resolution of employee occupational injuries, environmental incidents and property loss events
    • Assist with process safety improvement projects, including use of six sigma tools, lean, and project management skills as required
    • Contribute and participate in implementation and auditing teams to ensure OSHA, EPA, and ISO14001 / OHSAS18001 requirements are being met
    • Development of safety and environmental awareness training, communications material and employee events
    • Liaison work with HSE, Facilities, Engineering, and other functional disciplines

     

    WHAT WE OFFER: Our internships are not all work. NYAB is located in Watertown, New York. When not working, spend your free time hiking the Adirondack Mountains, kayaking the many waterways, enjoying the beaches of Lake Ontario or exploring the history, food and fun the Thousand Islands Region has to offer. You are just a short drive to World Class Casino’s, Golf, Shopping and the award winning Finger Lakes Wine Country. Our interns begin work as early as the end of May and work up until the middle of August. Expect 40 hours per week and a competitive salary (based on experience and position) of up to $20 per hour. You will take part in special events, & outings, take advantage of wellness & workout programs in our fitness facility or join the lunchtime kickball league. There is something for everyone as a summer intern.

    Required Experience

    • Previous relevant internship, co-op, course, or work experience

     

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Co-Op Opportunity for Environmental, Chemical, Occupational Health & Safety or Industrial Engineering majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
